Martin Kastner Recognized in Time's Invention Issue

It's nearing the end of the year so it must be the time for Time to start looking back on the people, things and milestones that have helped define 2011. "The Invention Issue" hits newsstands Nov. 28 and Alinea service wear designer Martin Kastner gets a shout out. Sure, it's by Grant Achatz, but it's still pretty cool. Kastner tweeted a picture of the page, thanking Achatz for the recognition.

The magazine asked Achatz who his favorite inventor is and he gives the nod to the Crucial Detail design shop owner saying, "I feel that Martin can be confronted with any idea, no matter how elaborate, and produce a product that is conducive to the project at hand. Achatz, who is listed as "the inventor of the edible campfire," (but tweeted that it should actually be credited to Next chef Dave Beran) added that Kastner's "ideas and his execution of these ideas have allowed me to be more experimental and progressive with my approach to cuisine."
