Bid for Fish Bar on eBay for New Year's Eve

Want to "own" Fish Bar for New Year's Eve? If you're the highest bidder, it can be yours. The Lakeview fish shack (and we use the term "shack" very loosely) will hit the eBay auction block on Black Friday (that's in two days if you haven't been paying attention) with a starting bid of $5,000. The bidding will continue through Dec. 1 when it will go to the highest bidder.

What's in it for you? The entire restaurant for you and up to 50 of your closest friends from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. You'll get access to the sound system and get to play DJ (with your own iPod, of course). And the choice between two menu packages that include things like oysters, calamari, gumbo, chowder, lobster rolls, steak, shrimp po' boys, tater tots, housemade dessert and an open bar with beer, wine and spirits. If there's other things you want, chef Michael Kornick will help you craft a menu, too. Search eBay starting Friday to bid (the page won't be live until then), but do not call the restaurant with inquiries.

If you have kids and want to ring in the New Year earlier, Fish Bar will have a 5 p.m. seating (reserve by calling 773-687-8177 before Dec. 21) where it's $15 per kid (includes kiddie cocktails, party favors and various snacks) and adults order from an a la carte menu.
