A number of well-known chefs and pastry chefs are teaming up to help raise scholarship funds for the French Pastry School and you can get involved. Between Dec. 7 and 11, the Drake Hotel will host the "Cookie for a Cause" pop-up bakery featuring specially crafted cookies from the likes of Gale Gand, Rick Bayless and Stephanie Izard.
The chefs will each create a unique cookie that will be baked by students at the French Pastry School and packaged in a box of 12 (two from each chef) to be sold for $25; 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the school's scholarship program. Joining the other chef are Malika Ameen, Vosges Chocolate's Katrina Markoff and French Pastry School dean Jacquy Pfeiffer. The pop-up kiosk will be open Dec. 7 to 9 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Dec. 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or at least until supplies last.
