Will the Velvet Lounge rise again? Word is that the nearly 30-year-old Near South Side jazz club will re-open in January. The club closed nearly a year ago due to feuding within the family following the death of owner Fred Anderson. But now it looks like the music will play on as a note on the club's website reads, "Opening Soon January 2012" and lists a generic schedule featuring a variety of music from jazz and country to Latin and DJs.
