You normally see them bright and early, dishing up a healthy dose of morning news. But now RA Sushi is bringing together five morning newscasters to pit them in a fierce (OK, more friendly than fierce) sushi battle.
On Oct. 19 between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., RA will host "Wake Up Little Sushi" and see Val Warner (Windy City Live), Zoraida Sambolin (NBC5), Linda Yu (ABC7), Jeanne Sparrow (WCIU's You & Me in the Morning) and Melissa Forman (also from WCIU) compete to have their unique roll named the best.
Each newscaster has chosen to duke it out for a favorite charity and will see their original roll, which will be prepared by the RA sushi chefs that night, get judged on name, taste and presentation by local media personalities and anyone in attendance. The winning roll will be featured at all three RA locations (Chicago, Glenview, Lombard) from Nov. 1 to 15 with a portion of sales going to the winning charity. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
