Welcome to Eater's First Ever Chinese Food Week

New, 5 comments

Chinese Food Week, Eater's exploration of and ode to Chinese food in Chicago, is here. Check in throughout the week for interviews, tips, inside info and hopefully some secrets of Chinatown.

And that's just here on the site. Out in the real restaurant world, four great non-Chinese restaurants are putting a special, limited time only, made just for Chinese Food Week special on their menus. Check out what's on offer below, and look back throughout the week as we feature one (or two) of the special dishes every day.

It's never too early to block out that lunch break.

GT Fish & Oyster: Duck and rock shrimp wonton with matsutake mushroom, 5 spice sweet and sour sauce. Get four pieces for $8 during lunch and dinner everyday through Sunday.

Bite Cafe: Duck confit spring rolls with spicy plum ginger sauce. Six pieces for $11 at dinner—look for it on the specials board.

City Provisions Deli: The eggroll supreme, house-cured salmon, cream cheese and scallion, all wrapped in an "everything" egg roll wrapper. It'll be available anytime of the day starting Tuesday through Friday for $8.95.

Franks 'n Dawgs: Peking Duck Dawg, sesame duck sausage, pickled cucumber, hoisin aioli, scallion, crispy peking duck skin and puffed rice, at $9. It'll be on the menu all day, starting Tuesday through Sunday.

Try one, try them all, have fun, and Happy Chinese Food Week.
