Eater confirmed this morning that Laurent Tourondel has tapped Aksel Theilkuhl to be chef de cuisine of the forthcoming BLT American Brasserie. If you're not familiar with Theilkuhl that's because he's not a Chicago chef. However, he has already spent a lot of time working with Tourondel.
Theilkuhl served as chef de cuisine at BLT Steak in Charlotte, N.C. and sous chef at BLT Market in New York. He most recently worked with Philadelphia-based restaurateur Stephen Starr before accepting the gig to move to Chicago. BLT American Brasserie is scheduled to open this November.
