This Sunday marks the fifth occurrence of Dose Market, Chicago's year-round food & fashion market. If you haven't been yet, you'll want to add this one to the top of your to do list. The next Dose will be held at the River East Art Center (435 E. Illinois St.) on Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Here's the scoop on what you can expect.
Jo Snow syrups will team with X-Marx to create Jo Jerx, a throwback soda fountain that will include flavors like concord grape phosphate and sass! root beer soda pop. On the food side, X-Marx will have tuna melts; a black walnut and fig patty melt with caramelized onions and gruyere on rye; jerk chicken sliders with pickled pumpkin; and caramel apples featuring fruit from Seedling Farm and Mama's Nuts!
Saigon Sisters will serve up tasty banh mi, spring rolls, papaya salad and che dessert while, starting at noon, Half Acre Beer Company will give out one free taste per person. Look for sweet and savory treats from Floriole Bakery, Bullseye Baking, Das Foods, Salted Caramel and more.
Both Star Lounge and Dark Matter Coffee will be on hand for your espresso fix, pour-overs and coffee accessory needs. Blis will return to the market with barrel-aged maple syrup, vinegar, truffle oil and wild domestic tuna and 240Sweet, an artisan marshmallow maker from Indiana, will make its Chicago debut.
Don't forget about the fabulous fashion vendors you can find at the market including Buckshot Sonny's men's sporting goods, Marji Gallery all the way from Santa Fe with fresh paintings and sculpture, Morlen Sinoway housewares, Laura Lombardi will also be there with Dose-exclusive accessories, and Chalk - fresh off Paris Fashion Week with their ready-to-wear collection.
