Inovasi chef John des Rosiers' new gourmet grocery store opens on December 13 and will feature an easy-to-use online ordering system. The Lake Bluff-based market promises to "change the way you eat at home," with all scratch-made, seasonal items, including rustic soups and salads, sandwiches, pasta, main courses and fresh bread from the local Red Hen bakery.
The just-finished store is built from 100% reclaimed and recycled materials, as are all the utensils, bags and carry-out containers—bringing new meaning to the term green grocer. A full menu is now available on the Wisma website.
In other des Rosiers news, Avenues chef Curtis Duffy, who was challenged by Alinea's Grant Achatz to prepare a dish with Chinese black beans for the second installment of the new Reader video series Key Ingredient, dared the inovasi/wisma chef to come up with something using geranium. We'll have to wait until next week to see how that plays out.
