Matt Damon continues his Chicago culinary tour while in town filming Contagion. Last night the A-list actor with a crew in tow popped in to Lincoln Park's Kith & Kin, where chef Andrew Brochu said they "crushed a lot of food."
We got a hold of their family-style tasting menu, and it looks like they indeed did crush a lot of food, in addition to reportedly being super cool. The group enjoyed some of the restaurant's signature crocks, including chicken live pate, mushroom conserva and foie gras with strawberry preserves.
They moved on to roasted heirloom beats and an apple salad with Roaring 40s blue cheese; smoked Apalachicola Bay oysters, Bar Harbor mussels, blackened tiger shrimp with Anson Mills grits and seared scallops with curry pudding. Next came another signature dish: buttermilk fried chicken thighs, followed up with horseradish BBQ short ribs, imperial wagyu ribeye and housemade tagliatelle with braised rabbit ragout. Sounds like a perfect comfort food menu for a cold Chicago night.
On Monday, Damon hit Jake Melnick's Tap to catch the Patriots annihilate the Jets on Monday Night Football. If you see him or co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Marion Cotillard—or director Steven Soderbergh—dining about town, send us a note.
