UPTOWN—Wild Pug (without the "e" after Wild -- such a petty issue, we think), the gay-owned Uptown spot is looking to open now in mid-November (originally it was last winter). Turns out the place is basically done but they're just waiting on their liquor license. Gotta love how the city works with new businesses.
LAKEVIEW— After a few attempts to dine there, some people have complained that Koryo on B'way has been closed more often than it is open. We just called and their voicemail is full. Is Koryo closed?
RIVER NORTH?—We mentioned the other day that the Manor guys are getting set to open Stay -- but they're remaining tight-lipped on the location (hence the question mark after River North -- we speculate because their other 2 spots are there). But we can report that it will be a cozy 4 a.m. lounge with a 120-person capacity that's set to launch late October/early November. No forced bottle service. No set music format (they'll let people request the tunes).
PILSEN—University Village's popular breakfast/lunch spot Hashbrown's will get a sister, but not for a while. A staffer confirmed they are opening a new place, but the build-out won't get started until March '09 with a projected opening of next fall.
