1) Gold Coast: DailyCandy reports that Eve is officially open for lunch. The Downtown sister spot to Lincoln Square's Tallulah began serving Gold Coasters and Loyola students (ok, maybe professors) on Monday. The spot, in the old Flapjaws space, serves contemporary American food like grilled lobster sausage, wild boar ribs and smoked turkey sandwiches. Eve is scheduled to open for dinner on Nov. 5. Status: open. 840 North Wabash Avenue, 312-266-3383. [DC]

2) River North: And Urban Daddy revealed the name of the new café at the East Bank Club: Maxwell's. The renovated space, once reserved for the lucky bunch who can afford to pump iron at the exclusive gym, is now open to the public. The spot, named for the restaurant's first exec chef Max Davidson, will serve dishes with fresh, local ingredients including chicken soup and sushi to meat loaf and tuna steaks. Brunch starts Nov. 2. Status: open. 500 N. Kingsbury, 312-527-5800 x 301. [UD]
