While Sunda, the new 200-seat Asian-influenced spot by Rockit Ranch productions (Rockit, Underground), won't open until January (at least), the built-out is underway and exec chef Rodelio Aglibot has been dishing some news. The former chef for Koi in LA and then his own spot, Yi Cuisine, which was named one of the best new restaurants in 2004, Aglibot says Sunda will be a "fun, approachable place. Unpretentious, unexpected. Bold and memorable. The flavors may be unfamiliar, but you will have an experience." We're excited about the Indonesian corn fritters. [Dish]
