On Friday night, Chicago's top chefs gathered at Macy's on State Street for the 20th annual Celebrity Chef Ball to support Meals on Wheels. The first portion of the night saw a four-course sit-down gala, but at approximately 8pm, the store's 7th floor was packed for the Indulgence Ball with the city's young and hip ready to eat. The event, which raised $160,000 from about 700 attendees, was what Chicago Gourmet should've been: food stations set up with the restaurants' owners or exec chefs serving up tasty morsels and interacting with hungry foodies. Who was there? Ryan Poli (Perennial), Takashi Yagihashi (Takashi, he was also an event host), Jimmy Banos (Heaven on Seven), Bill Kim (Urban Belly), Stephanie Izard (Top Chef), Tony Priolo (Piccolo Sogno), Eric Smith (Citizen), Josh Linton (ajasteak), Patrick and Mike Sheerin (Signature Room and Blackbird, respectively) and so many more. We feasted (Poli's croquettes and the stone crab bisque from Joe's Stone Crab were a couple of our faves), hung out, drank and cavorted. The best moment of the night: when Izard and Poli were rocking out on air guitar to Journey. [Eater]
