It's been years since the Tiki Lounge rocked and the Mai Tai's flowed but legendary Oakland-based Trader Vic's is finally coming back to Chicago. While news broke last spring of its return, the restaurant finally confirmed that it will indeed be opening in the Viagra Triangle this November. Trader Vic's vacated its long-standing home at the Palmer House when it underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation. It was rumored to re-open back in 2006 but obviously that didn't happen. The drinks and Polynesian food will once again flow at 1030 N. State when the lounge will be back in business. We can't wait to wear our shell bikinis and eat some fire -- and then mosey over to Gibson's and watch rich old men out to dinner with their, um, nieces.
