Heads up Logan Square: your own Revolution Brewery is in the beginning stages of setting up shop at 2323 N. Milwaukee (in the location shown in the picture). We emailed with owner Josh Deth (Goose Island, Handlebar) to get the scoop on the progress. He said:
Everything is coming along just fine with the brewery project. We've been working our way through the city's building permit process for a couple months now and expect to start construction in a couple weeks. No target opening date since there is still a lot of work to come. The brewing equipment is hanging out in the building, but otherwise it is a mostly empty space at the moment awaiting the sledgehammer and crowbar.
When it does eventually open, they'll have five distinct beers (amber ale, Belgian-style wit, pilsner, porter and a hoppy brew) and also a brewpub with a full-service kitchen. The timber-mill constructed building, a former book printer, will have a green roof and sits on two city lots. Revolution will build out the second floor for special events and private parties.
