Even with the market back on the rise (for now) and gas prices dropping, food prices are heading north. Wholesale food prices have jumped 8.7 percent in the last year -- and in 2007, they went up 7.6 percent. Now, more people will likely stay home to eat -- even those who frequent the drive thru. McDonald's said it can't continue to sell beef and chicken at such low prices (on its dollar menu) that it will either change up the menu items or raise prices. [HuffPo]
