Edgewater: How many Nookies does it take to get to the center of a BLT? Apparently four. After opening three of the more successful diners, aka "breakfast nooks," around the city (in Boystown, Lincoln Park and Old Town), the Alexopoulos family, the peeps behind Nookies since 1973, are gearing up to open a fourth spot -- in Edgewater. The location: the long-shuttered building adjacent to the Bryn Mawr El stop. A rep from Alderman Mary Ann Smith's office confirmed the opening and also said a "white table cloth" spot will likely open there as well. The other tenant? Chicago Apartment Finders, which already has a sign up. This one is probably a ways off -- the rep tells us that while construction on the building is going on, the opening is likely not until 2009.
