Yesterday, the latest cog in the Four Corners Tavern Group invasion opened for business in River North. Highline Bar + Lounge is an updated version of the quintessential Four Corners neighborhood bar concept, located in the large 10,000 square-foot former Central Standard space.
Karen Herold redesigned the multi-room space with summery whites in the front and darker blues and blacks in the back, separated with wooden screens. More than 20 other screens—TV screens—are nearly everywhere you turn. Seating ranges from two- and four-seat square high-tops, three-seat round tables, larger rectangular tables for parties, and two bars.
Highline is open for lunch and dinner from the get-go. All food and beverage menus are laid out below, featuring upscale bar food such as tacos, sliders, sandwiches, flatbreads and snacks. Booze options include design-your-own old fashioneds and gin or vodka tonics, $150 punch bowls, and lots of beer.
As previously reported, the elevated train-themed spot aims to capitalize on the many businesspeople, commuters, and neighborhood residents with lunch, happy hour and evening business. Highline is the twelfth Four Corners Tavern Group establishment, following recent openings or acquisitions of Gaslight, Ranalli's and Castle, and the group's first foray into River North.
