Less than two years on the job and Bryan Moscatello has left his position as executive chef and partner at Storefront Company. He returned to a former job when he was named executive chef of The Little Nell in Aspen on November 22, a position he held from 1992 to 2000.
Sources say that the move was sudden and a formal replacement hasn't been named yet. Sous chef David Park has launched a popup menu to fill the void. At press time, Moscatello hasn't responded to a request for comment.
Moscatello, a 2003 Food & Wine best new chef and kitchen vet in Colorado and Washington, D.C., helped open the Wicker Park restaurant last year. The restaurant underwent menu and space changes under his watch, including moving from an a la carte menu to a tasting menu format and instituting an expanded kitchen counter. He drew a variety of reviews, from a middling one in The Reader to a rave one in the Tribune.
