Another new restaurant is getting set to enter the blossoming Evanston restaurant scene in the first week of November. And while this spot from Unite Urban Grill owner Joe Krouse and two partners was first reported in May, more details and a name change are being announced by reps.
Originally naming it The Wood Shed, the ownership group has since decided to name the eatery in the Central Station building (1700 Central St.) Ten Mile House, which is an homage to "Evanston's first gathering point" that was founded in 1836. While the name has changed, the food concept remains the same—look for pizzas cooked in a wood-burning oven, smoked meats, as well as "comfort food classics and healthy fare."
Ownership hopes Ten Mile House, with its 110-seat dining room, bar, and outdoor patio, will become a "social hub for the community." Stay tuned to see if that happens when it opens in early November.
